Inspired by the grandness of the Western landscape, Scott L. Christensen is one of the country's premier plein air painters. Walking out into the remoteness of the American West with paint and canvas, Christensen has captured the light and color of his surroundings using only a limited palette of primaries plus white. Adding a number of premixed grays, to establish values or modify colors, he has produced works of exceptional clarity and feeling of place.
